Emmaus: Our Chosen Charity
ECA Energy is supporting the national homeless charity Emmaus by providing free
negotiation
on the energy and utilities contracts for the charity's various around the country to help them save costs .
Emmaus Communities offer homeless people a home, work and the chance to regain self-respect in a supportive environment. Residents work full time on the Community business, renovating and re-selling donated furniture. The money generated by this social enterprise is then used to help the project become self-supporting.
Tim Page, Director of Emmaus UK, says 'This kind of practical support is invaluable to a charity like Emmaus. Helping us to save money on our utilities is an important way of helping our projects become self-supporting, which in turn enables us to help even more homeless and disadvantaged people.'
