From 1st April 2018, a new measure introduced by OFGEM will be introduced to ensure that any Half Hourly supplies that exceed their available capacity pay significantly more.

It is a change to the DCUSA (Distribution, Connection and Use of System Agreement) that will introduce excess penalties. The change is to cover costs that the DNO (Distribution Network Operator) can incur when clients exceed their capacity levels. This penalty could be up to to three times higher than the standard capacity rate and will vary according to region and voltage.
