Keep ahead of energy legislation

We’re seeing a lot of recent changes and updates on the legislation front. By signing up to receive our regular bulletins, these will be emailed to you as they are issued keeping you ahead of the game. Here are a selection of recent key changes that you should be aware of:

UIG (unidentified gas allocation): From October 2017 customers on a full pass through gas contract will see an increase in their charges from their nominated supplier. We are currently reviewing contracts and will be in touch with anybody affected.

ESOS update: Start thinking about ESOS Phase two now to avoid the last-minute rush of the last compliance deadline and the resulting price increase. Read more

New minimum EPC standard: April 2018 brings a new tax year and from the 1st a new regulation for landlords. Read more

Reporting consultation: The government consultation on a streamlined energy and carbon reporting framework was released on the 16th October 2017. Read more

Carbon Trust: The carbon trust have changed their funding scheme, two of the most significant changes are:
Maximum contribution
Was 30% or £10,000. Now 15% or £5,000
Minimum project value
Was £2,500 Now £5,000

ISO 50001: To bring it into line with the other ISO standards and the new ‘higher level structure’ that will be a running theme through them all. Read more

DP161: From 1st April 2018, a new measure introduced by OFGEM will be introduced to ensure that any Half Hourly supplies that exceed their available capacity pay significantly more. Read more
