Supplier Back Billing

Thursday 14th March, 2019

Great news for domestic and micro business customers Ofgem have now brought into place new guidelines around backbilling. A backbill is a ‘catch-up’ bill sent by a supplier when the customer hasn’t been correctly charged for energy use. Backbills can be for any amount, however the new rules now prevent suppliers from backbilling beyond 12 months. Anything prior to that will be classed as non-chargeable, this ruling is currently for domestic and micro business customers.
